Since its inception in 1991, Lunch Partners has been vital to a community plagued with food insecurity and homelessness. We offer hot meals three days a week with a shopping experience of fresh produce and staples from donated goods. We also offer monthly boxes of food and a clothes closet every Friday.
Fast forward to 2025. We see a shift within our community. Where once our recipients were primarily homeless, we are seeing an increasing number of “working poor”. These folks can afford a roof over their heads, but groceries prove hard to come by. With no discrimination, we simply serve all who seek assistance. We require no identification, no proof of residency or documentation of need. Instead, each compassionately receives a welcome smile, a hot meal, and no one leaves empty-handed.
Hunger impacts health. It affects the academic performance of a child struggling to learn,. It pulls at the heartstrings of parents who go without so their children may eat. Hunger remains a vital part in solving the puzzle of poverty. Our philosophy is simple: poverty is hard. Feeding the hungry isn’t that hard. If we cannot eradicate poverty, our mission is to eradicate hunger one person at a time.
The backbone of Lunch Partners are the volunteers who cook, drivers who collect donations, the many who wash dishes and arrange a pleasant shopping experience for all who come. We partner with area organizations and appreciate the contributions of all. Let’s work together!
